Agreeing Upon Contract & Payment Terms Upfront

Each project and maker is different and we do not mandate a particular set of terms for each transaction as it's up to the maker and client to mutually agree on what makes the most sense.

We recommend that the following items are discussed upfront and agreed in writing if not already clearly stipulated in the maker's invoice and/or payment terms:

  • Key Design Specifications (dimensions, material types, finishes, design, etc)
  • Timing / Schedule
  • Cancellations & Refunds
  • Intellectual Property (typically the designer-maker would retain rights to the design unless agreed otherwise)
  • Insurance (particularly where shipping is required)
  • Warranty

We're here to help you, so if you'd like any advice please get in touch with us at projects@handkrafted.com.
